Are we being Targeted?

On Sunday, Chris Foy sent Vincent Kompany off for what virtually everyone agrees was not a red card offence. Later in the match Aguero was almost decapitated by Giggs by a two footed tackle from behind that wasn't even penalised. The FA had the chance to clarify the situation by recinding Kompany's red card, but instead upheld it. Last night Glen Johnson went flying into Lescott , but fortunately didn't connect, yet again the player wasn't red or yellow carded. Today Talksport and thye newspapers are full of how it was Mancini who was in the wrong to complain and that he's losing it. This is going beyond incompetance by referees and the FA and is looking like a definite attempt at engineering by the authorities. Can we not ask for last night's tackle by Johnson to be judged in retrospect? The owners need to nip this in the bud even using legal threats if necessary, because what has happend to Kompany is a disgrace.

  1. It certainly feels like we are being targeted but our best course of action is to adopt a siege mentality and to knuckle down. Last night's performance was not acceptable and a few players need to look at themselves hard in the mirror. We can, and must, do much better than this. We are a much better side than Liverpool – even with the likes of Silva and Kompany out. However, I think we will need to dip into the transfer market again and I wonder if a more experienced old-timer might help us settle some nerves. I wonder if Patrick Vierra would consider coming back in a Scholes-esq, Henry-esq manner? I also wonder if there is any last chance saloon with Tevez as we could do with him right now. I would be quick to forget his shenanigans if he helped us win the league.

  2. Too right we are being targetted by referee's and cheating players, I had my say on my blog about it.

When Nika speaks of seige mentality I agree but I suggest a much tougher seige mentality, I suggest maximum verbal hostility for referee's who screw us as well as maximum hostility for players who cheat us.

It is time our whole contingent of support at home matches got vocal and not just the Kippax, we need the spirit of Maine Road back and super fast.

  3. The main problem on Sunday was that Foy had a wretched game getting decisions consistently wrong throughout the match, something which has been overlooked in the wake of the Kompany dismissal. I thought the ref last night had a decent game and, clearly, if we'd have had him on Sunday things could have been very different.
If Tevez is still here after the window closes, it could be looked at but very unlikely I suspect. Perhaps have a look at Hargreaves before Vierra?
The press are getting rather bent out of shape over Mancini. He's only asking what's going on and as for that turd Dalglish. Asked about Johnson's tackle, he just said "Didn't see it" in his teeth together way. Maybe Lescott shouldn't have jumped, taken the broken leg or two, then we might get a proper debate on the situation. As Joleon got out of the way, as Nani did, the tackle didn't bother me. However, there does seem to be one law for Manchester City and another for the rest.
