Tuesday/Wednesday

Back now from South Wales and what a disappointment that was. Adam J didn’t play in Lisbon so despite being fresh wasn’t picked for Swansea, coming on as sub far too late. They got a dodgy pen which Joe, to his credit saved easily. We had a stonewall pen turned down, Savic made his customary boob, we had a great goal disallowed for marginal offside of Micah’s ear, and whilst we didn’t play well, and they did without threatening it was 3 points lost which we can ill afford. Meanwhile over at the swamp, West Brom had a man sent off, were denied a nailed on pen and the rags got a soft one at the death. It’s a Fix I’m afraid, 1972 all over again – we won’t get a decision for the rest of the season and I can’t see us doing it now – so we must go all out for the Europa Cup. We failed to strengthen defensively in the window and are now desperate for Tevez to come back and change things for us in the Prem. to give us a glimmer of hope.
Cups For Cock Ups?
Swansea’s programme had plenty on City – with pieces on the modern day manager, Swansea/City links, fun facts (we actually paid £53,000 for Denis Law not £45,000!) Mancini, star men, managers, City 3 united 1 in 2005 (wrong date!) previous encounters, Vic Gomersall, Kevin Reeves, and a review of the 2006 Youth Cup players by ex Blue Curtis Obeng now a Swansea player. So lot of homework done there to excuse the odd mistake.

  1. Why let the facts get in the way of a (attempted) story! Barry looked clueless, De Jong huffed and puffed but looked out of his depth, Mario was anything but 'super' etc. You failed to look threatening due to your lack of width and got exactly what you deserved....nothing. Accept defeat with good grace and fans of other clubs will still like you, continue with your biased, one sided gibberish and oppo fans will think you are overpaid bunch of numpties (like on Sunday). Swansea played you off the park and it was only when your superstars decided to play hoofball that you got any joy. Enjoy 2nd place this year. Epic FAIL

  4. It may well be a wind-up from Jack, but he's right. We lost because we were shite and Swansea were pretty damned good. Savic is dreadful and the thought that we could have had Samba in January, but didn't bother, gnaws at the mind especially as Lescott "might get on the bench tomorrow". Richard's might have been only just offside, but it was a very difficult decision got right by the lineswoman. More relevantly, Silva had an off-day, Mario didn't seem as hungry as he should have been and we just didn't keep any control of midfield.

The only way we'll win tomorrow is by relentless attack, because we sure as shit aren't going to keep a clean sheet, are we?

  5. Actually I thought the atmosphere at Swansea was the best I've encountered this season, especially when the home fans did the Zulu War chant.
Where you let yourself down is the comment about enjoying secomd place. A bad winner is worse than a bad loser. I wonder where you got that from?

  6. Neil has taken the words out of my mouth. I've pasted below a post I put on my Facebook page this afternoon, which I think shows that we can do without lessons from these twats. The message that offended me came from the 35-year old son of my lifelong best friend. Not some kid....

There's a saying in Manchester "And they wonder why everybody hates them". For me, the following message received today kinda sums up just why that came into use. The irony of the "arrogant" comment just had me in stitches. Enjoy......

Not as quiet as the other night when city got arseraped by swansea, the joy and happiness that one felt watching the blues in the crowd skriking like a set of wet lettuce faggot panzy bitches can only be described as monumental, in fact I was laughing that hard i was in danger of causing permanent damage!!! I've never seen so many arrogant tossers spit the dummy that hard in years, I can't wait for the end of the season when 19 becomes 20!!! ohhhh yesssss

  7. Tony4mcfc, I'm no red buddy, just someone who dares to offer a critique of a rather 'blue' tinted post. I would prefer you to win the EPL than your neighbors, however, the title is earned by points on the board rather than posts on a blog, and your managers over cautious attitude Is contrary to the start of this season when you were a joy to watch. My nearsightedness as you so politely put it is no more tit like than the original poster who seems to simply avoid the facts you were beaten by the better side on the day, it was our day in the sun and we will bask in it. As a lifelong supporter of a 'tin pot' team like Swansea these are the shreds of comfort we deserve after standing on open terraces at Carlisle etc for most of my days as a fan. I hope that having read this retort you can appreciate that I have merely offered as biased and petty comments as the original poster, merely from the other side of the coin. STID.

  8. No hard feelings Jack, I had you down as one of the millions of United fans who have suddenly found their voices again. I have to agree with Dave who posted the original comment though, we were worth a point, although that probably wouldn't have been enough for us, enjoy the win. I accuused you of being myopic because I thought you were one of those United fans who reckon every decision that goes against them is wrong but that every penalty they get is nailed on. You are not too far wrong regarding our managers approach to away games in recent months. If you want to show everyone that you're serious, go to Old Trafford in May and play without fear.

  9. Glyn, I was really apprehensive about the Etihad derby because if we were incontention, I felt that the officials would screw us again. I thgink it will be all over by then and we can relax and give them another stuffing. A so called mate of my son's posted that picture on his facebook page too. They call MU fans sheep, I ,think we can see why, not an original thought between the 3 million of them.
