Friday

FRIDAY
News is that Pep’s going to Bayern Munich, Carlos has been banned from driving, and it’s snowing. Great article from Stuart Brennan on financial foul play (thanks Tony) in last night’s MUEN – why aren’t our club fighting against it?  All quiet on the transfer front. Anyway, weather permitting it’s Fulham tomorrow, here’s the It’s A Fix extract  :

23) SATURDAY JANUARY 19TH : FULHAM (HOME) KO 3PM
11th season in the Prem. No silverware. Recent connection Mark Hughes. 56th league meeting

This season so far : they’re in 13th place with 25 points from 22 games and 2 wins 4 draws and 5 losses away from home.

At the Cottage in September it was a 2-1 City win. They went ahead with a dubiously awarded penalty converted by Petric (20). Aguero equalised (43) and supersub Dzeko clinched it in the 87th minute.
Crowd was 25,698 with 1,794 Blues

In the Capital One Cup : They lost 1-0 at Sheffield Wednesday in the 2nd rd

In the FA Cup they drew with Blackpool 1-1 .at home in the 3rd rd. but won the replay 2-1 and face the rags and if they win the replay face the rags away in the 4th rd.

Form at home v Fulham: Last season it was the 3 -0 home win in the snow (irony alert) with goals from Aguero (10P), Baird (30 OG) Dzeko (72) Crowd was 46,963 with 741 Cottagers
For City it’s : WDDLLWLDEDW

Comment : Mid table form for Fulham this season, and results seem to depend on whether Berbatov (Keep calm and pass me the ball) can be arsed or not. Let’s hope it’s or not today.

WWTWTWShite: Averaged 4,057 in 90/91and this season it’s 25,542

  2. No doubt I'll get another bollocking from CiTyBlUe, but I thought it was another poor performance and untill we scored the second, Fulham were always in it, passed the ball around well but never tested Hart. I guess we can't play like they did at Arsenal every week and the improtant thing is, three more points.

  3. Poor is a bit strong - just a bit blunt in attack. I don't think Fulham would have scored if we'd still been playing. They had reasonable possession but no danger and at no stage was heart in mouth. We had danger but no cutting edge - Sergio will be a welcome returner although he can be as profligate as the others. We need them to start taking chances up front at a better ratio than they're managing now.

  4. Yes, that's probably a better descrription of the game Geoff. I don't think Fulham had a shot on target, their passing play was good, but they ran out of ideas and seemed keener to pass it back and keep possesion.
