Sunday

Monday
Saints away and a reasonable time to set off in the Tom-mobile for the 4.30pm kick off. A34 closed so we had a pleasant diversion through the dreaming spires of Oxford. Seemed strange to reflect then on the time we won here 4-2 and in the park behind the away end the police lined up in their riot gear.
Arrived at Southampton in plenty of time for a snack and chat with Cheesy on Radio Manchester who advised the team. About what I thought. Pellers putting all his eggs in the Chimps league basket, banking on us beating Arsenal and Swansea to take 3rd or 4th place.
Rags drew with Leicester so only 4 points clear and they have a game in hand.
Saints cup winning team (1-0 over rags) of 1976 wheeled out, and let’s hope 1976 is repeated with us winning the league cup and the rags losing the FA Cup Final.
Needless to say we were dreadful, Saints racing into a 2 goal lead after Raheem missed yet another sitter and our defence fell asleep twice. Kelechi gave us a bit of hope but it was soon 4-1, though Kelechi, again, scored a beauty for 4-2.
Good trip home, watched MOTD 2 and thought Kelechi might have got some credit, but no, he’s not Rashford after all.
Watched Burnley get promoted today and was reminded that 56 years ago to the day they won the title at Maine Road beating City 2-1. Crowd was, from memory, 65,981 – and I was the one!
Tonight Leicester could clinch the title if Spurs don’t win at Chelsea. Many a slip though…..oh and Ronaldo’s fit for Wednesday so it looks like goodnight Vienna, hope not.
