Saturday, and a win over Norwich by Arsenal puts them a place above us.
Silly that the game is on Sunday last thing and you can’t blame Pellers for picking a changed team, which he surely will.
But we do need a win and confidence booster before Wednesday……

Congratulations to Grandson Joe on his 18th birthday, and a great time was had by all.

No History - Formed in the 1880’s and were a second and third division club but made it to the first division in 1966, and won the Cup in 1976 beating the rags 1-0 but as a 2nd division club.
Ups and downs since then but eventually bouncing back and establishing themselves in the Prem, despite the continual raping of their best players.
76th League meeting

Ronald Koeman said some naughty things about the rags before Barca’s Cup Winners’ Cup game in 1991, but has said nice things about Pep Guardiola recently.

Recent connections, you have to go back as far as probably Alan Ball and Graham Baker. So you can’t say that we, unlike others, have raped and pillaged the Saints.
Lallana, Lambert, Lovren, and Clyne went to Liverpool,  Shaw, and Schneiderlin to the rags, Walcott, Oxley-Chamberlain, and Chambers to Arsenal, Bertrand to Chelsea, and Bale and Pochettino to Spurs.

Some celeb fans - Craig David, David Gower, Fiona Phillips, Holly Valance

This season so far - They’re in 8th place with 54 points from 35 games with 9 wins 3 draws and 5 losses at home.
At The  Etihad in November it was a 3-1 City win. De Bruyne (9) opened and Delph (29) added the second. Long (49) pulled one back but Kolarov (69) made the points safe. Crowd was 54,102 with 1,502 Saints.
In the Capital One Cup they beat MK Dons away 6-0 in the 3rd rd, then Villa 2-1 at home in the 4th rd but lost 6-1 at home to Liverpool (who lost to us in the Final) in the Q/F.
In the Europa Cup they beast Vitesse Arnham 2-0 home and 3-0 away but went out to FC Midtjylland 1-1 home and 0-1 away, probably a blessing in disguise!
In the F A Cup they lost 2-1 at home to Palace in the 3rd rd.

Our form at St Mary’s – last season  in November it was a 3-0 City win. Goals came from Toure (51) Lampard (80) and Clichy (90). Sergio was booked by the referee for being fouled in the box, Mangala was sent off and Vinny got himself injured celebrating Gael’s goal. Crowd was 30,919 with 2,489 Blues.
Form at Saints : Last season’s win made it for City, 5 wins, 4 draws and only 2 losses in the last 11 games ie -  WDLDWLWDDWW

Comment - Making another good fist of it, despite losing key players and having decisions go against them, except when they play us of course!.
Plenty of danger up front with Pelle and Mane mean we will have to be on our toes. Forster or Joe? We’ll see. At least they won’t park the bus, probably, so an exciting open game is anticipated.

Groundwise - St. Mary’s capacity : 32,690 (2,500 for City) LHS stand behind the goal for Blues
Tickets: Half price - £21/20/18.50/17.50

WWTWTWshite- Averaged 11,612 in 1955/56
and this season it’s 27,519.

It was the build up to the Chimps league semi-final, and City cocked up the ticket sales.
On the night there was a lot of anticipation, and it was good to hear that the show pony wasn’t fit.
Some razamatazz before the kick off, and yes, I did wave the flag! Bet Ged didn’t!
And I did boo the anthem. As for the game I thought it was enthralling. Modric outstanding, strange that Spurs have been better since he left. Good saves from Joe and if Sterling ever decides to become a professional footballer we could’ve won it.
We then heard the news of the Justice for the 96, which is tremendous, but should’ve been sorted 27 years ago.
On the Wednesday the Youth team lost out to Chelsea 3-1, very unfortunately.
Last night we saw Dennis Suarez playing for Villarreal in the 1-0 win over Liverpool, which I fear will not be enough. Seville drew the other semi at Shakhtar 2-2, and there was much talk of Spanish teams not being knocked out of Europe by English teams. Funny, I thought we knocked em out of the Chimps League this season.
Finally, it’s April 29TH, the manumirror does a feature called ‘on this day’. Would’ve been good to reflect on City’s 2-1 win in the Euro Cup Winners’ Cup over Gornik, as we’re in the semi’s of the Chimps League.
HOWEVER they chose to feature the 1970 Cup final replay at the swamp between Chelsea and Leeds “the preliminary round of the Cup Winners’ Cup competition” Joe Mercer said at the time.
The 1933 Cup Final was mentioned though.
Nuff said.

Real Madrid

Tonight’s the night, with the visit of Real Madrid, who won 3-2 at Rayo (where’s that?) at the weekend and moved to within a point of Atletico and Barca. We won 4-0 by the way v Stoke!
Sky have delighted in showing Bale’s goals against us, of course, and Vinny's given a rousing clarion call to we supporters which didn’t come out right. Would’ve been better if he’d said “I know our fans will lift us tonight with their fantastic support” instead of “out fans need to get behind us blah, blah…” Anyway, here’s the IAF extract from KK233………………

City played them in a friendly away in 1979/80 which we lost 5-2, but the first meetings were in the Group stage of the Chimps league in 12/13 when they won 3-2 in Madrid, Dzeko (69), Marcelo equalising (76) Kolarov (85) Benzema (87) equalising again and Ronaldo (90) cruelly winning it for them. Crowd was 70,381 with 3,504 Blues, some of whom were disgracefully battered by the Spanish police before the game with no UEFA repercussions.
Return leg at The Etihad was a commendable 1-1 draw. Benzema (10) opened and Sergio (74P) equalised in front of 45,740.
Real Madrid also won a pre-season friendly 4-1 in 2015.

In the group stage they played  – Shakhtar 4-0 home, 4-3 away; PSG 1-0 home, 0-0 away; Malmo 2-0 away, 8-0 home
Round of 16 – Roma 2-0 away, 2-0 home.
Quarter final – Wolfsburg 0-2 away, 3-0 home.

This season so far in La Liga they’re in 3rd place with 81 points (1 behind Barca, and Atletico) from 35 games with 25 wins, 6 draws and 4 losses.

Comment – they don’t come much bigger than the ten times European Cup Winners, and we know pretty much all about  their manager ZZ Top and players. It would be very nice to keep Bale and Ronaldo quiet, and it looks to be heading for a great night at The Etihad.

Stoke on Saturday at daft o clock. Watched the youth team on the box on the Friday night. It looked like men v boys to start with but we showed character to get back into the game. Went a goal behind but equalised and all to play for on Wednesday night.

Miraculously it stayed fine on the day. Good to see Kelechi making a start, and a good performance and convincing win over a disappointing Stoke team who luckily couldn’t finish.
Whisper it, but plenty of empty seats owing to the date change. We know of Blues who didn’t get back from holiday until the Saturday so couldn’t make the kick off, so how many more were in the same boat (as it were!)?
North stand emptied rapidly, need a survey from the club to find out why.
Question also begged as to why Pellers didn’t play Kelechi at Norwich and v the rags etc.
Didn’t see MOTD, the PFA awards or Sunday Supplement.  City overlooked again apart from Izzy which was good. Am I being kidded but did Giggs win a merit award ffs?
Round and about the rags won the semi-final. Lots of battling between fans at service stations on the way down. Seen any reports? Me neither.

Leicester won and tonight Spurs only drew with West Brom so The Foxes only need another 3 points to be sure of the title. It should’ve been us of course. Hope they clinch it at the Swamp at weekend and they get a rousing reception.
All on tomorrow then.

I  can confirm that KK 233 was out at the Stoke game and is in the Manc, Stockport and Bury outlets. It is also available on Kindle.

Friday, 22 April 2016

Game brought forward from Sunday because of the Real Madrid match. Stoke’s had a couple of 4 goal batterings at Liverpool and Spurs at home, so could be fragile mentally, and I believe  Shaqiri’s not playing which is good for us.
Here we go with the IAF extract from Kk233……

No history – Formed in the 1860’s, founder members of the Football League in 1888. Won the League Cup in 1972, sank down the divisions, but bounced back and were even Cup finalists in 2011 losing to us 1-0.
94th  league meeting.
Recent connections - Glen Whelan, Mark Hughes, Stevie Ireland, Shay Given

Some celeb fans - Nick Hancock, Aha, Dominic Cork, Julian Clary, Slash, Jeremy Paul

This season so far - They’re in 9th place with 47 points from 34 games and 6 wins 5 draw and 7 losses away from home.
At the Britannia in December it was a 2-0 capitulation. They went ahead through Arnautovic  after 7 mins, who then added another in the 15th, and that’s how it stayed, somehow. Crowd was 27,264 with 2,813 Blues.
In the Capital One Cup – they beat Luton away 8-7 on pens after 1-1 in the 2nd rd, Fulham away 1-0 in the 3rd rd, Chelsea home 5-4 on pens in the 4th rd after 1-1, Sheff Wed 2-0 home in the Q/F, but went out to Liverpool in the semi 0-1 home, 1-0 away and 5-6 on pens.
In the F A Cup they beat Doncaster 2-1 away in the 3rd rd but went out 1-0 at Palace in the 4th rd.

Our form v Stoke at The Etihad in August  2015  it was a ridiculous 1-0 loss, Diouf scoring the only goal in a breakaway in the 58th  minute.
Crowd was 45, 622 with 1,182 astounded Stokies.
That win was the first in their last  12 league visits, whilst City have won the other 10

Comment - None of Mark Hughes’ teams, QPR, Fulham, and Stoke had beaten us since he left, but he’s had a couple of wins recently and with the addition of a couple of class players Shaqiri and Arnautovic has moulded them into an effective outfit, though we won’t be able to compare Butland, injured, with Joe.
So we should be aware, professional and get the job done.

WWTWTWShite - Averaged 8, 288 in 85/86 and this season it’s 27,519.

Newcastle - lovely day, stopped off at Leeming services which will be closed for refurb for 8 months, and the lady serving us was a Blue!.
Parked up close to the ground thanks to the Blue Vic’s shrewd map reading.
As for the game – great for Sergio to notch his 100th, offside when the ball was kicked but onside when he nodded it in! Lazy defending cost us the equaliser in a dreadful display, though we could’ve had a pen., which allowed the rags to close the gap to 2 points and Arsenal to leapfrog.
Good drive home until the A1 was shut and the diversion signs were abysmal. So finally got to bed at 2pm. Still, only a couple of handy trips to Saints and Swansea to go.
Stoke tomorrow and nothing short of a win will do before we take on Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Don’t forget that KK 233 is on sale so we’re hoping for a break and some decent weather before kick off!

Monday, 18 April 2016

Newcastle tomorrow, we should’ve played them weeks ago when they wanted MacLaren sacked and they were demoralised, but they’ve just had a good home win and will be fired up to play the Blues. Here’s the IAF extract from KK233….

No History - 4 time First Division Champs (!905, 1907, 1909, 1927), 6 times FA Cup winners (1910 to 1955), Inter Cities Fairs Cup Winners 1969 and last pot.
Recent connection is Shay Given, and this is the 160th league meeting.

Some celeb fans - Robson (wife stealer) Jerome, Tony Blair, Ant and Dec, Sting, Jimmy Nail, Brian Johnson, Mark Knopfler, Steve Harmison, and KK guru Graeme Alderson.

This season so far  -  They’re in  19th place with 28 points from 33 games and 5 wins 6 draws and 5 losses at home, 3 points from safety.
At The Etihad in October it was a 6-1 City win. Mitrovic (18) opened for the Magpies but Sergio hit top form with goals in the 42nd, 49th, 50th, 60th and 62nd minutes. Kevin DB slotted one in in the 53rd minute, and it was yet another sad day for the Geordies at our place. Crowd was 53,850 with 2,573 bar codes.
In the Capital One Cup they beat Northampton 4-1 at home in the 2nd rd but lost 1-0 at home to  Sheff Wed  in the 3rd rd.
In the FA Cup it was a1-0 loss at Watford in the 3rd rd.

Our form at St James’ Park on the first day of last season it was a 2-0 City win. Goals came from Silva (38) and Yaya (90) and the crowd was 50, 816 with 3,156 Blues
Our League form at Newcastle – since their last promotion in 2011 we’ve won all five.

Comment - Steve McClaren seemed a reasonable  choice as manager, but he had to go and Rafa Benitez took over without much success.  They get no credit for the disgraceful treatment of Jonas Gutierrez. Krul’s been injured, Shelvey and Townsend have come in and they do pose a threat up front, of sorts. We can’t keep beating them can we, and you do have to feel for Newcastle fans? But we need the win, desperately!

Groundwise - No surprise, we’ll still be in the top tier of level 7 of the Sir John Hall stand high up behind the goal. No flares or smoke bombs please.
St James Park : Capacity : 52,387 (1,600 initially for City)

Tickets- £36/29/18

WWTWTWShite - Averaged 16,001 in 1980/81 and this   season it’s 49,710. They can’t be singing “we’ve got more fans than you” this season, so don’t let em.
Pubs/parking - Plenty of pubs, on street parking and local car parks
Away day zines- True Faith, Talk of the Tyne, Black and White Mad

Sat Nav - NE1 4ST

Friday, 15 April 2016

No history – Formed in 1905, 1 Chimps league (2012), 2 Euro Cup Winners’ Cups (1971, 1998), 1 Europa League Cup (2013), 5 titles (1955 – it took 50 years for their first trophy - to 2015), 7 FA Cups (1970 to 2012), 5 League Cups (1965 – to 2015), 1 UEFA Super Cup (1998)
Last promotion was in 1989 (with us) 142nd league meeting.

Recent connections are Frank Lampard, Scott Sinclair and Danny Sturridge.

Some celeb fans : Sugsy, Michael Caine, Bill Clinton, Phil Daniels, Seb Coe, Minnie Driver, Dicky Attenborough RIP, Trevor Eve, Damien Alban, Nick Kershaw, Bryan Adams

This season so far they’re in 10th place with 44 points from 32 games, and 5 wins 7 draws and 4 losses at home.
At The Etihad in September it was that wonderful 3-0 City win. Aguero (32), Kompany (79), and Fernandinho (85) did the biz for City. Crowd was 54,331 with 3051 Chelsea.

In the Chimps league, Porto 2-0 H, 1-2 A; Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-0 H and A; Dinamo Kiev 2-1 H, 0-0 A. PSG 1-2 H and A.

In the Capital One Cup they won at Walsall 4-1in the 3rd rd but went out at Stoke in the 4th 4-5 on pens after 1-1.

In The FA Cup 3rd rd they won 2-0 at home to Scunthorpe, and in the 4th rd it was a 5-1 win at MK Dons who should have had an identical penalty to Chelsea when the game was still in the balance.
In the 5th round they beat a weakened City team 5-1. Goals came from Costa (35), but City equalised though Faupala (37), then Willian (48), Cahill (53), Hazard (67), Traore (89) but Willy practised his penalty saves with one from Oscar. Crowd was 41,594 with 2,556 Blues.

Form at Chelsea : At The Bridge in January last year it was a 1-1 draw, Remy opened (41) but Silva equalised 4 mins later. Crowd was 41,620 with 3,020 City.
That made it for City - DLDLLW

Comment : Big improvement since Guus Hiddinck took over from Mourinho who got himself sacked with one eye on the rags job and even though Hiddinck’s only there until the end of the season Chelsea haven’t taken their foot off the gas.
Antonio Conte is named as manager for next season so their players should be just as perplexed as ours regarding their future. Hopefully it’ll be a bit different than the Cup game and we can finally get another win here.

Groundwise : Stamford Bridge: Capacity : 41,837. 2,200 for City. We’re in the upper and lower tiers behind the goal in the old Shed end.
Tickets : £ TBC
Parking: Difficult and expensive, best to park up and come in by tube to Fulham Broadway, a short walk to the Bridge.
Away day zine : We were given a lecture a few years back on how to sell a fanzine and how A4 was a silly size, from the editor of the new kid on the block ‘Carefree’ Chelsea fanzine. It vanished without trace I believe!
We wrote to the club with an SAE to request permission to sell and haven’t had a reply so they can f*ck right off!
Sat Nav/Post code : SW6 1HS

WWTWTWShite : Averaged 12,672 in 1982/83 and this season it’s 41,517.

PSG - A bit drizzly but reasonably fine night, and the place buzzing. Turned out to be a wonderful one with Kevin putting the icing on the cake, scoring the winner and confirming our passage through to the semi-finals. Joe’s had some criticism in this issue but he was superb tonight, making 3 crucial saves, 2 from Ibrahimovic free kicks and a point blanker from Cavani (stick a hat on him and you’ve got James Bay!).
So we were in the pot for the semi-final, our first in Europe since 1971 when we lost both legs 1-0 with a depleted team to Chelsea after beating Schalke in 1970 5-2 on aggregate, going on to win it v Gornik. First out and we drew Real Madrid – I was hoping for Atletico  so we could visit their stadium before they move, but possibly an easier game. Ho ho! Home game tickets priced at £50 max I believe.
Stoke game’s been brought forward to the Saturday, which is good.
Chelsea tomorrow.

Funny day

Funny day today. Mad Matt and big daft Blue was on Judge Rinder re the dispute over the pie eating contest!
I sent KK 232 to Bradley Walsh on The Chase  re rag questions, and it seemed to work as Paul from Great Yarmouth turned out to be a City fan and “which team in Manchester play in Blue?” “City” the lady answered. And they beat The Chaser, Shaun Wallace, no relation, with 16 points and 5 push backs to pick up £17K. Paul is spending it on more season tickets!
Tomorrow it’s the second leg of the Quarter final of the Chimps League. First leg finished 2-2, so City fans are buying up the tickets as it’s not a lost cause, even at £60/45. Some protests by the 1894 group but I doubt if Blues will be walking out a la Liverpool on 60 minutes. £45 for us so we could walk out on 45 minutes!
All to play for. C’mon you Blues.
Lots of stuff coming in for KK233, so will be putting it together in the next week

5.30 PM kick off for the strange choice of match v West Brom. on TV. You all know what that means? Yes, lovely all day until…..half four when the heavens opened, and no cover anywhere, so sales affected, though sterling work by our sellers, and everyone drenched and cold entering the ground, affecting the atmosphere. Maybe the club should consider a bit of cover here and there?
Sad to hear that Cyril Mintz has died, and a nice tribute given to him before the game. Colin Savage interviewed Cyril in a recent issue of KK, so that’s worth a reflection.
Pellers left out Yaya, Silva and KDB, but mysteriously (again) preferred Bony to Kelechi.   Some thoughts then on playing the strongest team to start and taking players off when the game is won. But this is City. Would you do it at 2-0, 3-0 or 4-0? Conundrum!
Nasri was blocked off by the ref for their goal – not a mention ANYWHERE, and what were Kolarov and Joe thinking? Sergio put us level from the spot, then a bit of a worry as Mangala looked to have given away a penalty. Paul Wilson in The Observer thought the Albion player backed into him, but Paul also thought that Clatt was right to give the pen on Sterling v Spurs that time.
Sammy, having a good game, but not included in the Chimps league squad, notched the winner after KDB and Yaya came on to save the day.
So 3 points safely in the bag.
Round and about West Ham and Arsenal drew, Leicester won at Sunderland, Liverpool looked impressive v Stoke. Rags couldn’t even get to WHL in time for kick off, but I have some sympathy here as there shouldn’t be football grounds in London, and they’re rebuilding The Lane ON THE SAME SITE. Ridiculous. Then they were soundly thrashed to give us a bit of daylight with a 4 point cushion and far superior goal difference, as we celebrated Funboy’s 30th birthday with a family meal. However we must keep up the winning mentality. First back to back Prem League wins since October we keep being reminded of!
Yaya’s tiresome agent had a World exclusive in the manumirror, pretty well stating the obvious, so we now await tomorrow night’s second leg v PSG with anticipation.

West Brom

West Brom later today, they’re safe with 40 points but Pulis is under pressure, apparently they’ve only had one shot on goal in the last 7 games which is hard to believe. Can we make it back to back wins for the first time since last October? We’d better, here’s the IAF extract from Kk232 -

No history – formed in  1879, Division One winners 1920, 5 times FA Cup winners (1888 to 1968), League Cup winners 1966
Last trophy FA Cup 1968, recent connection Lescott, Gorgios Samaras, 138th lg meeting

Some celeb fans : Frank Skinner, Julie Walters, Lennie Henry, Eric Clapton, Ronnie Wood, Cat Deeley, Judas Priest, Adrian Goldberg, Adrian Chiles, Dave Haslam, and KK subscriber Roy Carmichael

This season so far – they’re in 11th place with 40 points from 31 games and 4 wins 6 draws and 5 losses away from home.
At the Hawthorns on the opening day of the season it was a 3-0 City win. Silva (9), Toure (24) and Kompany (59) scored the goals in an unexpectedly comfortable and impressive win. Crowd was 24,564 with 2,735 Blues.
In the Capital One Cup they won 5-3 on pens after 0-0 aet at home to Port Vale in the 2nd rd, but went out 3-0 at Norwich in the 3rd rd.
In the FA Cup they drew 2-2 with Peterboro in the 3rd rd but won the replay 4-3 on pens after 1-1aet. Then they lost 3-1 at Reading in the 4th rd. which their fans didn’t take too well, with Chris Brunt getting hit in the face by a coin throwing Baggie.

Form at home to The Baggies - last season :
at The Etihad in March  it was a 3-0 City win. McAuley was sent off in the 2nd minute which kinda killed the game off as a contest. Goals came from Bony (27), Fernando (40) and Silva (77). Crowd was 45,018 with 711 Baggies. Pulis must hate us!
That made it for City – six wins after 2 draws and a loss.

Comment – Ups and downs for the Baggies but they’ve pulled off some decent results, so we’ll need full concentration to pick up all three points.
Berahinho is their star but wayward man, and the squad includes ex rags Darren Fletcher, Ben Foster and Johnny Evans (boo) .

WTWTWShite: Averaged  9,134 in 1986 and this  season it’s 24,381.

Blanc showed his true colours – once a rag, always a rag, with all the bitterness that goes with it.
Watched it on the box with the usual crowd. Joe’s flapper eventually led to their penalty, was it or wasn’t it? But made a great save. Abrahimovich clean through lofted over then KDB scored a beauty. Later as they showed our goal again, PSG appeared to have equalised. Why does Joe persist in kicking the ball out to a City player under pressure like he did against the rags? Infuriating. Then they scored an offside goal, (a header according to the Telegraph!!!) but we squirmed one in to make it 2-2 and all to play for at the Etihad next Tuesday. Well done lads.
That Angel di Maria is one ugly fucker as is Rio on the BT panel. Why?

Tuesday, 5 April 2016

Congratulations to the Youth team on reaching the FA Youth Cup Final again, berating Arsenal in the semi 4-3 on aggregate.
Tomorrow it’s PSG, of course, here’s the It’s A Fix extract -

We had the choice of PSG, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Benfica, and we got PSG.

They were formed in 1970, when Paris FC merged with Stade St Germaine. However Paris FC retained their name after promotion to the First division in 1971, and PSG reformed to join the Third division making it back to the First in 1974, whilst Paris FC were eventually relegated to the second then third divisions.
They are now owned by Qatar and were founder members of G14.

Prior to our last meeting PSG had won the French Cup in 1982 and 1986 plus the title in 1986, European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996 with George Weah and David Ginola.

The teams last met in the quarter finals (ironically) of the Uefa Cup in December 2008 playing out a 0-0 draw at COMS (as it was then) . We didn’t play them away as the UEFA Cup was then even dafter than what it is now as The Europa League!

Groundwise it’s the Parc de Princes which has a capacity of 46,480 with tickets priced at £71 with no concessions for City, so they can f*ck right off.
They had a fan group called the Boulogne boys, who were far right wing, racist and anti-semitic, now believed to have been disbanded after police intervention further to riots and being tooled up with knives, bottles, flares etc. in 2007.
Presumably, after the detestable terrorist attacks in Paris security will be on high alert and the game will proceed in safety on and off the pitch.

This season so far they’re far and away top of the French league with 80 points from 32 games, 25 ahead of Monaco on 55, who actually beat them at the Parc de Princes a couple of weeks ago 2-0. At the weekend they beat Nice 4-1 at home with Abrahimovic notching 3.
In the Chimps League – PSG 2-0 home, 5-0 away; Shakhtar Donetsk  2-0 home, 3-0 away; real Madrid 0-0 home, 0-1 away; then 2-1 home and away to Chelsea.

Some connections are Nicolas Anelka, Ali Benarbia, and Sylvain Distin.

Squadwise – Cavani, Di Maria, Abrahimovic and Luiz are the big known names.

Comment – With the return of KDB and the performance at Bournemouth there’s a new spring in the step of the Blues, and a result looks a possibility if we can keep Abrahimovic quiet, no mean feat. Then we could look forward to a great night at the Etihad, maybe, despite some tickets priced at £60

Monday, 4 April 2016

Drove down on the Friday and stayed over. Lovely day on the Saturday, had an ice-cream on Boscombe beach then parked up in Kings Park close to the ground.
Blues not confident, Burf moaned about our team being a bunch of shorties.
We were on row B just behind disabled Blues so a strange view of the game. KDB made a big difference as the goals went in, and one of our shorties soared above nay Serged above the Bournemouth defence to make it 3-0. When was the last time we were three nil up at half time against Bournemouth? Don’t answer that!
Uneventful second half apart from Fernandinho’s clearance hitting an unsuspecting Sean Riley in the face!
Then as we left to flog a few KK’s Alex thundered a stormer in for 4-0. So Blues in good humour leaving the ground. “See you in Paris” and suddenly a result looks a possibility. Bring it on.
